Silicon Carbide Rod Wiring Method: If the resistance values of the components differ, connecting them in series will cause the rod with higher resistance to bear a more concentrated load, which can easily lead to a rapid increase in its resistance and a shortened lifespan. Silicon carbide rods are generally used with a combination of series and parallel wiring. It is recommended to connect two rods in series as one group and then connect multiple groups in parallel. Especially when the furnace temperature exceeds 1350°C, parallel connection is necessary. For three-phase wiring, an open delta connection is recommended. Practical experience shows that a higher load density results in a greater temperature difference between the heating element's surface and the furnace chamber. A higher load density also leads to a higher surface temperature of the rod, faster resistance increase, and a shorter component lifespan. Therefore, the surface temperature load, density, and atmosphere inside the furnace are directly proportional to the aging rate of the component and inversely proportional to its lifespan.

In continuous kilns versus intermittent kilns, silicon carbide components have a longer lifespan in the former. This is because during use, the surface of the component oxidizes to form a silicon dioxide film. Prolonged use increases the thickness of this silicon dioxide layer, and the resistance also increases accordingly. The silicon dioxide film undergoes abnormal expansion and contraction near the crystallization critical point (1527°C). Since intermittent kilns frequently cycle around this temperature, the silicon dioxide film is repeatedly damaged, accelerating oxidation. Therefore, if the furnace temperature often drops to room temperature, the resistance increases sharply, leading to a shortened component lifespan.
